Discovery runs on our own self-written engine — fast, self-contained, built for field work. No third-party scanner to install, nothing licensed to trip over.

CLASSIC

Discovery rides on Nmap, the industry-standard scanner you install yourself. The conservative choice while the new engine proves itself on real networks.

For deep packet inspection (LLDP/CDP switch-port probes, captures), both builds work with Wireshark — the free, industry-standard tool you already trust. You install it from wireshark.org; we never bundle, auto-install, or redistribute anyone's software.

RackRat-Engine needs no prerequisites at all. RackRat-Classic's discovery needs Nmap, installed by you. Optional companions — Ookla Speedtest CLI, iperf3, FFmpeg — can be pulled via winget during install, in a visible console you supervise; Wireshark is always installed by you, from its official site.
